About Me
My path to Rolfing started with a search for myself... A journey that is everlasting.
For quite some time I'd had this "stuck" feeling about my life. It felt as though I was just spinning the metaphorical wheels of my potential, not living up to what was possible. I began listening to and taking care of my physical body. Much relief was garnered from tuning into my body's needs for proper nutrition and exercise. Still I felt something within me lie unresolved.
I traveled to Peru in 2015 to experience several plant medicines under the guidance of experienced native healers. The event changed my life, gave me a clearer perspective of myself, and the importance of finding emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
I'd learned about Rolfing shortly after this trip. I was drawn to the idea that Rolfing could help the body function at a higher level. I had heard it was a way to fine-tune one's "human antenna" to be more receptive. By the third session of the 10 series, I noticed the aches and pains I'd thought were normal had resolved. Rolfing helped my nervous system dissipate the "charge" that had built up from years of living life. Areas of old trauma and injury felt revitalized. There became a greater intrinsic awareness of how I perceived myself. It felt as though the weight of the world became lighter, more malleable. I was ready to move on the the next thing, the next echelon of my life's ladder. That next rung happened to be a enrolling at the Rolf Institute® in Boulder, CO to begin my career as a Certified Rolfer ® .
My intention in opening Rhythm Rolfing is to help others find their own ease in the world.
Besides Rolfing, I enjoy a dedicated Ashtanga Yoga practice, playing the bass, and being outdoors.
I’ve supplemented my Rolfing SI training with the following courses and techniques:
Franklin Method® Teacher Training Module 1
Franklin Method is an evidence based modality that combines movement, imagery and anatomical education to create lasting positive change in your body and mind. The Franklin Method® teaches dynamic alignment and how to move your body with maximum efficiency to keep your body youthful and energized. Your whole body is part of a symphony of coordinated movement. In a sense, your posture is reinvented at every instant. In every moment, the ideal combination of limbs, joints, gravity, moving parts, connective tissue, and muscle must be found and directed by your brain and nervous system.
Dermoneuromodulation: Clinical Application of Touch Physiology, Pain Science, Critical Thinking, and Clinical Reasoning
DNM considers the nervous system of the client from skin cell to sense of self. As an up-to-date explanatory model and practice viewed through a biopsychosocial framework, DNM is congruent with pain science and thus applicable in working with people in pain.
Sourcepoint Therapy
